Over the course of the night, my passion for archaeology, forged over the years between ruins and books, had awakened in me a thousand questions that hoped to find answers in Pompeii. Before visiting the site for the first time, I imagined it as a ghost town where archaeologists and tourists lived together in the spirit of a Roman past that was still alive, defying time. Those fateful hours had gone down in history in detail in two letters that I had in my hands. And those letters gave way to the legend… Until the legend was rescued from oblivion, they became history, and history, like life itself, continued on its way. As it always does. Making its way between reality and fiction, fed by the imagination of those who approach it, history writes new narratives, making itself the protagonist of the moment.

Durante toda la noche, mi pasión por la arqueología, forjada a lo largo de los años entre ruinas y libros, había despertado en mí mil preguntas que esperaban encontrar respuestas en Pompeya. Antes de visitar aquel sitio por primera vez, la imaginaba como una ciudad fantasma donde arqueólogos y turistas convivían con el espíritu de un pasado romano que continuaba vivo, desafiando al tiempo. Aquellas fatídicas horas habían pasado a la historia detalladas en dos cartas que tenía en mis manos. Y aquellas cartas dieron paso la leyenda… hasta que la leyenda fue rescatada del olvido, se hizo historia y la historia, como la vida misma, continuó su curso. Como de costumbre. Abriéndose paso entre lo real y lo ficticio, alimentada por la imaginación de quien se aproxima a ella, escribe nuevas narrativas y se siente protagonista del momento.
